Two Detentions Following Heathrow Irritant Spray Incident
An additional two individuals are now in custody in connection with a robbery at London's Heathrow Airport where over twenty individuals were injured by a substance believed to be pepper spray, as stated by law enforcement.
A 24-year-old man, was taken into custody in Lambeth on suspicion of theft and assault and a 23-year-old woman was arrested for suspected conspiracy to commit robbery. They both are still being held, the force said.
The arrests come after an investigation into an attack at the multi-level parking garage at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Prior to the incident, a pair of female travelers were robbed of their luggage after getting out of a car park lift.
A three-year-old girl was one of the injured during the incident. Five people went to hospital for medical care and have since been released.
Officers arrested a man in his thirties on suspicion of theft and assault close to the scene. He has since been released under investigation while inquiries continue.
Authorities were called at about 08:10 GMT after reports came in regarding a number of individuals hurt by a noxious substance believed to be pepper spray.
The attack - which police said was isolated and not being treated as an act of terror - caused train delays and the partial closure of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a short time.
